USW Illustration Project – Digital Gallery

Students from the Illustration BA at the University of South Wales have been working with 欧美成人 to design a piece to be installed in an empty window space on Queen Street. The students produced a great range of excellent designs including the piece by Bethan Roberts which was ultimately installed in the space. Below is a wider selection of the students work and some notes from them on their design process:

Bethan Roberts聽

The idea for this piece was to capture the beauty of Cardiff. It also suggests a glimpse into a greener future.

Celsey Groenewald聽

While Cardiff is an ever-developing city, what makes it special is how it retains its strong sense of heritage. My approach combines contemporary architecture with a visual style inspired by medieval works, connecting the present-day city back to its roots.

Chloe O鈥橞rien聽

This piece explores how Cardiff was built on the foundations of the docks and mining communities. Traditional dock and mining houses sit at the base, with mid-century and modern Cardiff rising behind them to reflect the city鈥檚 growth and evolving identity.

Kayleigh Howell聽

Cardiff, its sport, music, community, and creativity, sits at the centre of this piece. From the Devils to the Dragons, it reflects the shared identity of the people who make up the city.

Keira Barr聽

The mural centres on creativity, culture, and independence, highlighting Cardiff鈥檚 independent businesses and strong community spirit. It presents the city in a positive and engaging way, reflecting its confidence as the capital of Wales.

Owain Thomas Castree聽

This piece showcases locations from around Cardiff in a gallery-style format. It combines landmarks, statues, and hidden details to celebrate the character of the city.

Dan Davies聽

This design highlights Cardiff as a place where locals and visitors come together. It celebrates the city鈥檚 activities, communities, and businesses, and the shared pride in being part of Cardiff.
